Shri George Jacob Muthoot holds a Civil Engineering Degree from the Manipal University. His contributions have been instrumental in expanding the brand’s presence throughout India and has taken the Company closer to its vision of financial inclusion of all sections of the society. The Group has substantial business interests in the UK, USA, UAE, Sri Lanka, and Nepal outside India. Shri George Jacob Muthoot is actively involved in the overseas business operations of the Company. He is an active member of several management and social forums in Kerala, namely the Trivandrum Agenda Task Force, Trivandrum Management Association, Member of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) and the Kerala Builders Forum.
 

He is a member of the Governing Board of the Charitable and Educational Society of Trivandrum Orthodox Dioceses and a Member of the Finance Committee of the Mar Dioscorus College of Pharmacy. He is a patron of the YMCA Trivandrum, and the former President of the Rotary Club of Trivandrum. He has undertaken and lead several notable contributions in terms of empowering young people and communities through social change. He has played active roles in his civic sphere like being inducted to the Advisory Committee of the Swasthi Foundation, a non-profit organization, primarily focusing on Healthcare, Social Justice and Environment Protection.

Shri George Alexander Muthoot is a chartered accountant who qualified with a first rank in Kerala and ranked 20th overall in India, in 1978. He has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Kerala University where he was a rank holder and Gold Medallist. He was also awarded the Times of India Group Business Excellence Award in customised Financial Services in March 2009.

He served as the Chairman of the Kerala Non Banking Finance Companies Association from 2004 to 2007 and is currently its Vice Chairman.

He has also received the CA Business Achiever Award 2013 under Financial Service Sector from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi.

He is also the Member Secretary of Finance Companies Association, Chennai. He is the founder member for The Indus Entrepreneurs International, Kochi Chapter and is now a member of the Core Committee of The Indus Entrepreneurs International Kochi Chapter. His insight for understanding of Gold Loan business and professional zeal has been the catalyst behind the Company's meteoric rise to the present level of being India's largest Gold Loan Company.

Shri George Thomas Muthoot is a businessman by profession. He brings to the table over three decades of operational and management experience in Financial Services and has played a key role in managing the fast-growing operations of the Company.

A banker with over 30 years of experience in managing business operations in the field of financial services, Shri George Thomas Muthoot's insights have played a pivotal role in the Group's dramatic growth and profits.

He is the Joint Managing Director and full-time Director of the Company. In 2014, he received the Sustainable Leadership Award from CSR Congress in the individual category.
